Our Story

Terry and I have been together since the fall of 2001.  We got married June 22nd 2002.  Although, I felt old at the time, looking back, we were pretty young, 22 and 23 years old. In our marriage, we moved several times, we even went to college together. In just a few weeks, we will be celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary.

We got married in a friends back yard.

During our early marriage, we both were in school. Then we worked.  Then it was time for kids.  After Jovy, we decided that I would stay home.  It was a good decision for our family, but with that choice comes sacrifices that had to be made.
One thing we didn't do when we both were working, was to try for a mortgage.  For some reason it wasn't on our radar. With the birth of Jovy, we started thinking about it more.  This was also the time of the housing market crash in the United States, which meant it was now harder to get a mortgage.  When we really wanted a house, no one would give us a mortgage.  We came close several times.  But the answer was always no.  We have been paying rent for over a decade.  Some mortgages are cheaper than our rent, but we can not get in the mortgage club.  We really wanted something that was ours. Ours to paint, ours to decorate, ours to repair, ours to home.

But all is not lost.  Terry has some property in West Hants. This opportunity was provided by Terry's mom.  She owns the property and will not be using it. Terry and his sister will share and we get about 3.5 acres. This property has been on the back burner in our mind because it needs a lot of work and it is not centrally located.

However, with each year passing us by and the kids getting older.  We decided to work with the property and see where it takes us.  We may have a cabin, we may have a house, we may just have a yard.  We just don't know.  We hope you follow along with us.  Chat with you soon!
